Congaree National Park, SC

The Congaree National Park is off the beaten path in South Carolina.  It is a swampy area.  They have done a wonderful job of preserving the swamp / forest area and still making the area accessible to visitors.  The sights that we saw were breathtaking, the pictures really don't do it justice. I recommend this one highly.

There was a 2.4 mile boardwalk that allowed you to be close to the water without walking in the swamp.

This was funny but I imagine very true.  We didn't have a problem with mosquitoes; thankfully it was too cool and too early in the season.
