Acadia National Park, Maine

Acadia National Park is a beautiful collection of islands on the coast of Maine.  The town of Bar Harbor is surrounded by the park and there are several more towns and islands that make up the park.  The view of the ocean and the rocks along the coast are breath-taking.  This national park is out of the way for most people since it is along the coast of Maine, but it is definitely worth the trip.

Sandy Beach, unusual for Acadia NP.

A spot known as Thunder Hole.  When the tide comes in and the waves are moving the right direction, the water comes thundering up this narrow channel and shoots way up in the air.  (it was not "thundering" the day we were there.)

Hunter's Beach overlook

Cadillac Mountain, at 1530 feet, it is the highest mountain on the Eastern seaboard.

After we went to Acadia, we stopped in a coastal town for a local favorite--Lobster rolls.  Unfortunately, we ate most of it before we remembered to take a picture.  But it was yummy!
