Bandelier National Monument, Los Alamos, NM

In Bandelier NM in New Mexico you will see dwellings carved into the cliff face and masonry dwellings built on the flat space at the foot of the cliffs. The houses in the cliff face are really amazing.  There are several that you can climb a ladder and actually go inside.  There is also a huge structure called the Long house.  There are also many trails to hike including one that leads to a stunning waterfall.

Steps carved into the stone.

The rock is porous and filled with holes and caverns, they used these to make rooms to live in.

Crossing the creek on Falls Trail

The waterfall, roaring with the spring water melting from the snowy mountains.

Huge, Huge fallen tree along the trail.
