Pecos National Historic Park, Santa Fe, NM

Pecos NHP near Santa Fe, NM is a beautiful site.  The ruins there are wonderful to see and there is the remains of an old Spanish mission.  There were actually 4 different Spanish missions at the Pecos site.  As one got destroyed, they would build another one.  They had a kiva there that you could go down into by climbing down a ladder that stuck up through a hole in the roof.  It was the first time we've had the chance to go inside a kiva like that. The walk around the ruins was stunning because it is built on a hilltop so you can look out and see the surrounding mountains and rolling hills.
