Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam, CT, is a home / castle that was built by a well-known actor named William Gillette. He had 20 workmen who spent over 5 years building this medieval-style castle from local stone. It is quite a structure. There is even a dragon head built out of rocks on one of the porch roofs. He also had a 3-mile long narrow gauge railroad.
