Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument in Xenia, OH

Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument in Xenia, Ohio, honors Charles Young who, as an African American soldier, despite racism graduated from West Point and became an officer and served for many years in several different capacities. He eventually became a college professor in Ohio and the house that he lived in became a gathering place for students.  This house is now a national monument to honor his service to his country.
