Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Washington

Fort Vancouver National Historic Site sits on the banks of the Columbia River in Washington.  It was once a frontier fur trading post that later became a military fort.  It was also the home of the Pearson Air Field and now houses an air museum.  The fort was home to the Hudson Bay Company from 1825 to 1866 when it burned to the ground. The fort you can visit today is a reconstruction.
