We ate at two unique (and delicious) places in Portland, OR. First was breakfast at Voodoo Doughnuts. It started in Portland and has spread to several other cities, including Austin, TX, where we were introduced to Voodoo Doughnuts for the first time. The fun thing about this place is that every doughnut has a name. Dave had the Homer, pink w/ sprinkles. I had the maple with bacon. These doughnuts are amazingly delicious. The stores are all decorated really funky as well. This one even had one of the seating benches that looked like a coffin.

The second place we ate at is called Matt's BBQ. Billed as Texas BBQ in Portland, Oregon. It is located in a beer garden that has several food trucks. When we got there the line was long. We waited a half hour to get our selection. A tray full of BBQ meats known as The Whole She-bang for two. We have eaten BBQ meat in many places throughout the US, including one really good place in our former hometown of Dalhart, TX. But this BBQ was the best we have ever had. The brisket was super tender, you hardly had to even cut it. The ribs and pulled pork were delicious as well. And Matt's BBQ is housed in an old tow-behind camper, giving it a fun look. We give Matt's BBQ two thumbs up, and those thumbs just happen to be covered with BBQ sauce.
