Lewis and Clark Historical Park sits of the coast of Oregon. The Lewis and Clark Trail covers 4900 miles from Pennsylvania to Oregon. The Lewis and Clark Historical Park sits at the end of the trail. There are several locations in this area that make up the park. The area that we visited was Fort Clatsop. The Corps of Discovery built a fort here and used the fort as a starting point to explore the surrounding area. They spent the winter in the fort before heading back east. During their winter at Fort Clatsop, they traded with the Indians. They spent time preparing for their trip back across the country.
